Alan Dale Crane

Alan Crane, 49, passed away March 21, 2006.

Alan was born Aug. 22, 1956, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Charles W. and Afton Crane. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1974. Alan moved to Seattle in 1977 where he resided until his death. Alan was pleasantly employed by Romac Industries for over 20 years, and was a key employee for Romac. Alan was a very fine artist, and enjoyed his talent very much. He took to being a photographer and engaged in the business of portfolio photography for some time. He was the photographer for many occasions and family events.

Alan is survived by his daughter, Allison Hess; and two granddaughters, Mikayla and MaryAnn, who have all been the sunshine of his life; brother, Chick Crane; sisters, Janice Brown, Caren Gines and LeAnna Durfee; and several nieces and nephews.

Cheryl (Grisby) Gay

Cheryl Ann Gay, 48, of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away at her home Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005.

She was born March 22, 1956, in Jerome, Idaho, the daughter of Leroy and Lovelle Grigsby. She attended schools in Twin Falls and was especially proud of being a star athlete in track at TFHS. Cheryl married the love of her life, David Gay, on March 12, 1976, and they made their home in Kimberly.

Cheryl enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Her greatest loves were golf, watching squirrels and being with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was looking forward to the birth of her third grandchild in April.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, David of Kimberly; two children, Curtis (Korrine) and grandchildren Alexis and Isaak Gay; and Missy (Shaun) Deagle all of Twin Falls, Idaho. Also surviving is her mother, Lovelle Grigsby of Twin Falls; her siblings, Louise Taylor of Emmett, Dan (Susie) Grigsby of Yerington Nev., John Grigsby of Boise, Joan (Dave) Howard of Twin Falls and Denise (Mark) Alexander of Filer; and several nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Grigsby.

Jesse (Jesus) Hernandez

Jesse (Jesus) Hernandez, 49, of Twin Falls, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at home with his family by his side.

This past year, Jesse has fought the most inspirational and courageous battle of cancer. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Feb. 13, 1954. He is the son of Fernando and Olivia Hernandez, the first born of seven children.

Jesse attended Twin Falls High School and graduated in 1974. He furthered his education by attending Boise State University for one year and has continuously taken courses offered at the College of Southern Idaho. Throughout Jesse's career he also obtained several certifications, State of Idaho Insurance license, and nationally certified in risk management consulting. Jesse spent most of his life in the Twin Falls area. He worked as a B.L.M. firefighter, owned JCP (Jesse's Concrete Placement), he was a dedicated employee for 13 years at the Twin Falls City Water Department, and worked for PAULA Insurance. In this last year he obtained his dream job with the Idaho State Insurance Fund working as a Risk Management Consultant. Wherever Jesse worked he made many lifelong friends. While water skiing on a hot summer day, Jesse laid eyes on the women he declared he would marry, Kim Breeding. On Aug. 6, 1978, they were married and have shown an enduring love and compassion for one another over the past 28 years. This year they were given the opportunity to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary by fulfilling a life long desired trip to go fishing in Alaska. On July 18, 1979, they were blessed with their only child Lacie. She was the apple of his eye and through her accomplishments has made him a very proud father. Jesse valued working with kids and helping in the community. He spent time developing a Southern Idaho Baseball league through Idaho Migrant Council. On the weekends he refereed for the Twin Falls Recreation Department in youth basketball, and high school basketball. In his most treasured sport, golf, he helped send students to various tournaments and clinics throughout the United States, provided scholarship donations and his time to anyone who wanted to learn. Jesse enjoyed the outdoors more than anything, his favorite activities were hunting, camping, fishing and golf. He loved tying his own flies to catch Steelhead on the Salmon River. His competitive nature surfaced while playing golf with his buddies and participating in many tournaments. Recently he was honored and deeply touched by friends who surprised him with a dedication party of "Jesse's Pond" on the number 4 hole at Twin Falls Municipal Golf Course.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter, Lacie Goitiandia (Joe); his brothers, Fernando Jr., Johnny (Mary Ann), and Marty; sisters, Rosa (Danny) Paiz, and Cynthia (George) Salinas; grandmother, Maria Galvan. He also has an extended family of many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Olivia Maria; grandfathers; and grandmother.

Vaughan Douglas Maughan

Vaughan Douglas Maughan, 49, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at his home in Twin Falls.

He was born June 21, 1954, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Fred H. Maughan and Sue Carole Maughan. Doug was the first of six children born to Fred and Carole. Doug brought immediate joy to the young Maughan family as they carved out a good living in Pocatello. Doug moved to Twin Falls when he was 14 and lived the rest of his life in the city that he loved. Doug graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1974 where he made many lifetime friends. Doug worked for several years for Magic Valley Rehabilitation Services and had a deep fondness for the staff that helped him develop life skills that would eventually enable him to live independently on his own. Doug enjoyed a wonderful life visiting his many friends and keeping in daily contact with his family. Doug was our family communicator. If anyone of us needed family news, Doug was the one to call for an update. He kept us all in touch and would not take no for an answer when it came to birthday greetings, Christmas get-togethers or family barbecues. Doug will be sorely missed. His unexpected passing will leave a tremendous void in all the lives that he touched. He taught us important lessons to live by such as telling those you love everyday how much they mean to you. Doug never met a stranger. He loved all types of music, especially rock and roll.

Doug is survived by his parents, Fred (Kay) Maughan, Sue Carole (Ray) Rocha; his brothers, Dennis (Pam) Maughan, Scott (Jackie) Maughan; sisters, Vicki Daily, Shelli (Armando) Ornelas and Chris (Dale) Kelly. Doug loved his many nephews and nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Doug was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Vaughan Lyons, DDS; grandmother, Marion Lyons; paternal grandfather, Morgan P. Maughan; grandmother, Eleanor Maughan.
