Nina Hansen

Cedar City, Utah
This is a picture of my cello ensemble here in Cedar City, Utah called Cellomania. These kids are all my students. I am in the back row second from the end on the right side next to the girl in the red shirt on one side and the yellow on the other side. My son Dane is also in a blue shirt near me on the bottom row next to the girl in the green shirt. I teach private cello lessons in my home and also teach in the middle school in the mornings. I am working on a Masters degree in Education at Southern Utah University and planning to take my students to China next year to perform with a chinese ensemble. I played with the Hunan Symphony in 2006 and am excited to return.

The other picture was taken in 2001 at the World Arm Wrestling Championships. I was the World Champion.

I visited Twin Falls last summer and was amazed at how it has grown. I just have to come up and visit my Sawtooth Mountains every once in a while. Hope I can come to the reunion next time.

Classmate Connections

I was spending a lazy Saturday calling classmates to confirm their contact information for our 35 reunion. One particular classmate said something like "How can it be 35 years...I'm only 20!" I replied, "Yeah, how did my kids get older than me!"

I just thought that was funny and a good lead in to this little bit of humor that I am sure all of you will enjoy but hopefully not relate to thoroughly!

Steve Watson

Albuquerque, New Mexico
Here is a link to www.thecradleproject.org which I am participating in. I have already begun lining up my sponsors and I deliver my cradle sculpture to the organization this Saturday. This all started with the vision of one woman here in Albuquerque, the awesome difference that one person can make.

NOTE: The Cradle Project is an art installation designed to represent the plight of the estimated 48 million children who have been orphaned by disease and poverty in sub-Saharan Africa. Their mission is to promote awareness and raise financial support to help feed, shelter, and educate these children.

Julie (Day) Vincent

Paul, Idaho
We've had some good snow punches here. Dave's (husband) not "loving" his bobcat snow blower as much as when he didn't have to use it daily just to keep the driveways and road clear! Last week had a big one and I stayed in town with friends. He texted me on the cell the next morning, "2 new heifers, 6 ft drifts, Wish you were here!". Went home that night after snowplows cleared the roads. I do love it so much here, even with the snow, even more because of our distinct seasons. Love the white fields, then in the spring the newly planted fields, then summer the rich green and gold fields. Then comes the fall just in time to kill the flies. That's what I'm talkin' bout! DO love it.
