Leeann (Vance) Hansen

Orem, Utah
Family Status: Married

Children: 4
We have three of our own and one 'adopted': Liz (34), Kristina (27), Russ (19) and Mike (12). Liz is married and on her own; Kristina is intellectually handicapped, so we will always get to have her with us. Russ is counting down the days until graduation (so am I!), and Mike is in the middle of Junior High School. I used to think life would get easier as we, and our children, got older, but the opposite seems to be happening. Things are crazy all the time at our house!

Grandchildren: 3
Liz has three girls of her own: Lucy (7), Alice (5) and Dora (3). Lucy is in the 1st grade and doing super, while Alice is chomping at the bit to get started. Dora is just adorable -- but then, I'm not biased at all. They just moved to North Carolina, so I am really missing them. Hearing their voices shriek 'Nanna!' when we call just isn't the same as being there to give them hugs and tickles.

After Graduation I: Went to College

College:
BYU, also CSI

Career: I teach at a private school for 5th - 12th graders and love it. The kids are wonderful and so much fun! As a bonus, both my boys attend the school, so I get to interact with them daily in that setting, as well as at home. I don't know how much they enjoy it, but I am having a great time! As a sign of true insanity, I am also working temporarily for my husband's company doing data entry -- and am thinking of going back to college to get a degree in history (ed).

5 Years from now...
Back at my ideal weight, still teaching (having earned my degree), enjoying my husband and family, being active in our church -- and traveling as much as possible in-between. Perhaps even writing a little along the way.

Retirement
Traveling with my husband and daughter, going on a mission for our church, and spending as much time as possible with our family and friends. I'm sure I'll find a few other things to do as well.

Other Information:
My husband and I have been married over 30 years and are still best friends. We got to know each other as dance partners on the BYU ballroom dance team and have been 'partnered' ever since. (I figured that anyone who could put up with me at 6:00 in the morning and still smile at me by 8:00 at night was worth grabbing!) We have a lot of fun as a couple and with our friends and family, and cherish every adventure together.

Rosann (Malberg) Marquardt

Hartfield, Virginia
Family Status: Married

Children: 1
Our son, John, is serving our country in the US Navy and is currently at his duty station in Kingsbay, Georgia. He is engaged to a beautiful Georgia Peach, Miss Casey Dawn. They are planning their wedding for some time in 2009 before John's next tour of duty (tbd). They have a wonderful chocolate lab who visited us for two weeks at our home in Virginia.

Grandchildren: 0

After Graduation I: Went to College

College:
Idaho State University

Career: I worked for IBM and Lockheed Martin for a total of 24 years as a computer IT specialist and just recently took an early retirement to travel the US and the rest of the world with my husband, Richard.

5 Years from now...
Traveling the world!

Retirement
I have already retired and plan to travel. When we are not traveling, we will be cruising the Chesapeake Bay in our tug boat. He had sailboats for many years and found they were getting to be a bit too much work so we sold the last one and bought a tug boat

Children: 2

We have 2 daughters.

The oldest is 26 living in Redmond Oregon and is working for the Deschutes County District Attorney’s office, but was just offered a job with the Sheriff Department so will be making that switch.

Our youngest is 24; she was born with a rare disability and lives at home with us.

After Graduation I: Played for a year or to then got married

College:

Before that I worked at a business that we purchased 20 years ago. We just sold it last year.

5 Years from now...
In five years? Well, probably still working, building up the retirement money. Keeping the five acres we have in good shape.

Retirement
Hope to retire at age 62. Would like to live closer to our oldest daughter. Travel more. (Yikes 62!)

Other Information:
I still stay active. I have two horses; one is an idiot, the other a joy to ride. (Guess which one gets ridden!) I enjoy working in the yard, working at my job, kayaking and visiting family and friends. Looking forward to our reunion and seeing everyone again.

5 Years from now...
With a little bit of luck, five years from now I will be packing up my classroom for the LAST time and beginning my retirement from teaching. I am sure I will always be involved in education as a volunteer, but it will be a great pleasure to not have to attend faculty meetings and feel the pressure of state testing twice a year!

Retirement
Rick and I plan to ski more after I retire, but during the week instead of only weekends. Right now we are planning a SCUBA diving trip to Belize, and hope to do that more also without having to wait for summer vacations from school.

After Graduation I: Went to College

College:
United States Military Academy at West Point

Career: Spent 17 1/2 years in the Army as a communications officer and engineer in various jobs around the world. The Army paid for my graduate schooling at the University of Washington and I retired in 1995. I went on to be at Sprint for 13 years now primarily in broadband wireless technology development. If you saw the recent news about Sprint creating a company using WiMAX technology and teaming with Clearwire, Intel, Google, Comcast and Time Warner to build out a nationwide high speed wireless broadband network, then you will know what I've been working on for the last 10 years at Sprint. I'm one of the lead subject matter experts for Radio Frequency design in this area and provide engineering support to our Government Affairs and Spectrum Development folks as they work with the FCC and manage our 2.5GHz spectrum nationwide. I also work closely with our Network folks as they design markets. As we build out I will most likely shift over to supervising the regional engineering for the buildout in the central US.

5 Years from now...
Leading the engineering group for the WiMAX network at Sprint in the central region.

Retirement
I will probably work till they kick me out as sitting around just isn't my bag; I'm too much of a type A person. Barb and I would like to have enough to travel places we haven't already been to in the military and enjoy our grandkids if our kids ever get going. As it stands now Ryan is the only one dating anybody.

After 15 years of insurance, a friend and I opened a dog grooming shop in the back of the insurance office, where I have been happily playing with pets now for 3 1/2 years. As my husband says, "my life went to the dogs"

5 Years from now...
Five years from now I sure hope I can be either working very part-time or not at all, maybe as a greeter at Costco, ha! I hope my husband and I can enjoy a little bit of traveling, and just hanging out with friends.

Retirement
I just hope to be debt free (other than my mortgage) and able to enjoy life. I pray for good health too. We would like to do some traveling and enjoy our kids.

Kent Howard

Rupert, Idaho
Family Status: Married

Children: 4
I still have a young family, and they are growing. Rachel, my oldest is almost 11. She has turned into a young lady. She is a very intelligent person and keeps me on my toes. She has always been able to remember a persons name after meeting them. Sarah, my number two child, is 9 years old and just did her ISATS and scored extremely high; we are proud of her. We just registered Kathryn who is 5 for kindergarten. She is so excited to start school. Bethanne who is almost 4 is finally becoming understandable in her talking. I am very thankful for my girls, having them late in life has kept me on my toes.

Grandchildren: 0

After Graduation I: None of the above

Career: I have worked in retail sales or direct sales most of my life. Several years ago, I joined Dell Computers working as a gold support tech. I worked there til having kidney failure. I had to take early retirement and now work with Congress and local politicians and the public concerning Kidney disease. I am getting ready to take my second trip to Washington DC to speak to Congress again about the Kidney Quality Care and Education Act and several other issues. To be in end stage renal disease is a hard thing, but with education hopefully I can help prevent others from getting there very fast.

5 Years from now...
First, I hope to have a kidney, but also to hope to continue to help others with kidney disease. (And raising my family.)

Retirement
I am actually working to stay alive to see my girls raised.
