Marion (Fisher) Demer

Boise, Idaho

Family Status: In a relationship

Children: 2
Liz is 26, single, and just moved to Kelowna, BC, which I’m looking forward to visiting in August. She is working as an office manager at a metal fabrication shop.

Nate is 25, married, living in Meridian and working for Coltrane Vacuum Systems.

Grandchildren: 2
Nate and his wife, Joanie, have 2 wonderful little wee ones. Landon was born in August of 2006 and is a major bundle of energy.

Cameron was born in January of this year and is a cute snuggly bundle of babyness.

After Graduation I: Went to work

College:
Boise State University

Career: After graduation, I worked a variety of jobs: KFC assistant manager, Tupperware factory worker, grocery checker, professional maid and insurance claims examiner. Since going to work of the State of Idaho in 1996, I’ve been an Accounting Trainer at Health and Welfare, a Senior Accountant at Idaho Dept of Parks and Recreation and am currently at the Office of the State Controller. I’m currently studying to become a Certified Fraud Examiner.

5 Years from now...
I’ll probably still be working for the State (the retirement benefits are looking good). Maybe where I am - and maybe not – just never know what the future may bring.

Retirement
Retirement is about 12 years out and PERSI statements are looking pretty good for the projected benefit at that time. I just keep my fingers crossed that the folks in the Statehouse don't do something really stupid that jeopardizes my retirement between now and then. Of course, I do buy a lottery ticket upon occasion, because it could happen.

Other Information:
Life is very good. My children and grandchildren are healthy, doing great and seldom asking for money. My health is good. I’m skiing, snowshoeing, biking, hiking, camping and loving life. I have a wonderful mate who is very supportive and loving. What more could a person ask of life?
